Natchez is 3-0 against North Pike since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Natchez Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Pike Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Natchez is ranked 92nd, while North Pike is ranked 87th).
Even though Natchez has not done well against Brookhaven recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Natchez managed a 42-38 win over Brookhaven. The win made it back-to-back wins for Natchez.
Natchez's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but RONIYA ELLIS led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which ELLIS has scored at least a third of Natchez's points. ZAMONIE WILSON was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, North Pike was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 36-32 to Brookhaven.
Natchez has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for North Pike, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.
Natchez was able to grind out a solid win over North Pike when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 41-31. Does Natchez have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Pike turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
