Even though the Jimtown Jimmies have not done well against the South Bend Washington Panthers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Jimtown walked away with a 53-42 victory over South Bend Washington. The win made it back-to-back wins for Jimtown.
It was another big night for Dylan Fey, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bishop Williams, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
South Bend Washington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Steven Reynolds 3, who scored 16 points along with six blocks and five rebounds. Reynolds 3 is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Johnson, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Jimtown pushed their record up to 5-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for South Bend Washington, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jimtown will face off against Elkhart at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Bend Washington will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Valparaiso at 6:30 p.m. on January 20th. Valparaiso has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-1 during that stretch of close contests.
