Derek Joyner Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Hertford County got the W thanks in part to Derek Joyner playing the best football he has all season. Joyner rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 38 yards and a touchdown. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
With the win, Hertford County broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. They and Camden County will meet on Friday for a tough Bear Battle.

While Naijhir White delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Holmes. White was dynamite, rushing for 169 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards.
Holmes now has a losing record at 3-4. White's next contest is against First Flight on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.
