Softball Recap: Tuslaw Has No Trouble Against Orrville

While Tuslaw put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Orrville. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Red Riders with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Isabel McCune made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shaylyn Fox, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dani Crescenze, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Tuslaw hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.

Tuslaw's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Orrville, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Orrville will welcome Fairless at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuslaw will be paying especially close attention to the Red Riders' contest: after the Red Riders face off against the Falcons, they'll take on Tuslaw again at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
