The Olivet Eagles lost against the Constantine Falcons back in October of 2014, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Olivet was beaten by Constantine 42-12. While losing is never fun, Olivet can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Constantine is ranked 98th).
Bennett Vandenberg was his usual excellent self, rushing for 195 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Rushawn James also helped out as he racked up 135 rushing yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Olivet to a paltry 78 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Constantine's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Michael Featherstone and his two sacks.
Olivet's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Constantine, their win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
Olivet does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Constantine will be playing in front of their home fans against Buchanan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Buchanan is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
