Rio Rico saw some tournament action on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 55-25 victory over the Grand Canyon Phantoms. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 28 points or more this season.

Grand Canyon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaemie Jensen, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. Jensen has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 34 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellanina Nanacasia, who had ten points.

Rio Rico has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Grand Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Rio Rico didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-36 loss against Mountain View on the 3rd. As for Grand Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-27 defeat against Cibola on the 3rd.
