Maryland Freedom had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-38 to St. James. Maryland Freedom were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-30.
Sophomore Jacob Dugas, who passed for 141 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Senior Chase Osinga was in the mix, too, providing St. James with 3 touchdowns. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Maryland Freedom off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving St. James a 1-0 record.
Next week, Maryland Freedom take on John Carroll at 7:00 PM. St. James are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Bishop Ireton next week at 1:00 PM.
