Edison has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Woodmore Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Edison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Edison ended up a good deal behind Huron and lost 56-42. While losing is never fun, Edison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 710th, while Huron is ranked 258th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Grayson Smith, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Luke Whiley, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Woodmore's ten-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Danbury 73-71. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Woodmore has managed all season.
Edison's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Woodmore, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5.
Everything went Edison's way against Woodmore in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as Edison made off with a 70-47 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edison since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
