East won against the Harding Raiders on Thursday with 44 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. East narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Harding 44-42. The win made it back-to-back wins for East.
Harding lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Akeelha Barnes, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nadia Mcqueen, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
East's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-1.
East will head out on the road to face off against Struthers at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Struthers comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Harding, they will be playing at home against Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cardinal Mooney will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 630th, while Harding is ranked 180th).
