The Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy Crusaders had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 86-26 defeat at the hands of Pinnacle Classical Academy on Thursday. Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.
Pinnacle Classical Academy was led to victory by Braylon Gentry and Cody Humphries. Gentry scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals, while Humphries dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Humphries has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Nathan Ngeno was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 10 rebounds.
Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Challenger the next time they take the court. Pinnacle Classical Academy will host Challenger at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
