The Atkins Camels will head out on the road to take on the High Point Central Bison at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. High Point Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Atkins, who comes in off a win.
Even though Northeast Guilford scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Atkins still came out on top. Atkins took their contest against Northeast Guilford 70-59. Atkins didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-42, which was the final score in High Point Central's tilt against Ben L. Smith on Friday. High Point Central has struggled against Ben L. Smith recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, High Point Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jack Carter, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Adonai Tyrance, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Atkins' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16. As for High Point Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Atkins came up short against High Point Central when the teams last played back in January, falling 63-55. Can Atkins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
