It was a Battle of the Birds when Horizon challenged Frederick on Tuesday. The Horizon Hawks simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Frederick Golden Eagles 82-53. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.
Leading Horizon to victory were Noah Sokolowski and Boaz Wisne. Sokolowski dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds, while Wisne dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Wisne a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Greene, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.
Horizon was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Horizon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points over those games. As for Frederick, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
Looking ahead, Horizon will venture away from home to face off against Longmont at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th. Longmont is on a four-game streak of home wins, Horizon a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Frederick, they have already played their next contest, a 50-46 victory against Niwot on the 13th.
