Shay Kletke made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
In other pitching news, Kenzie Bledl looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Jenna Valladares was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, La Habra unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Modena.
Makenna Caffrey made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Georgia Rickenbacker, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
La Habra's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Pacifica, their record now sits at 10-5.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pacifica hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like La Habra struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pacifica came out on top in a nail-biter against La Habra in their previous meeting on March 5th, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Mariners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Highlanders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
