The Edison Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Glen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Edison of the 54-47 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2016.
Oak Glen's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Geisse, who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Geisse scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Cole, who scored 13 points.
Edison has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Oak Glen, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Buckeye Local the next time they take the court. Oak Glen will host Buckeye Local at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Edison will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
