Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Fairless

Fairless put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Orrville Red Riders by a score of 6-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mike Ritterbeck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Highben, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Lucas Eberly was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Highben wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fairless kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Fairless' record is now 3-0. As for Orrville, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Fairless will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Riders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
