Willis and Conroe are an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2022, but not for long. The Wildkats will venture away from home to square off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Conroe took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Willis, who comes in off a win.
Willis took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on New Caney with a sharp 3-0 win.
The final score came out to 25-8, 25-17, 25-12.
Willis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from CARLEIGH KNOBLACH, who had 15 assists and four aces. Those four aces gave KNOBLACH a new career-high. Another player making a difference was AVERY WOOD, who had 13 digs.
Meanwhile, Conroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Grand Oaks, falling 3-0.
Conroe took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-19.
Willis pushed their record up to 21-18 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Conroe, their loss dropped their record down to 17-22.
Everything went Willis' way against Conroe in their previous meeting back in September, as Willis made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildkats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
