The Northwest Knights lost to the East Central Trojans back in December of 2021, but the Northwest Knights didn't allow the East Central Trojans the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Northwest came out on top against East Central by a score of 59-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Northwest.
When it comes to explaining why East Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dylan Maxwell. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Maxwell's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joel Richter, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, East Central were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for East Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest will take on Little Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Central, they will be playing at home against Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rushville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while East Central is ranked 198th).
