3A District 8 recap October 8, 2013
Stigler was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in 3A District 8. The Panthers defeated Eufaula 28-7 earlier in the week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Checotah beat Valliant 56-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Wildcats.
Trace Jackson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Stigler beat the Ironheads. The 5-foot-10 sophomore grabbed 1 interception.
Seth Sandlin was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 119 yards on 22 carries as Chris Risenhoover's team bested Roland. Jackson also contributed to the rushing game with 85 yards on the ground.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Rangers' Madison Bunch goes up against the Panthers' Jackson.
An important game coming up in 3A District 8 this week will be when Checotah takes on the Wolves. Brandon Turley's team is in first place, while Heavener is in sixth place.
The league will see a high scoring game when Stigler and Roland face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Panthers comes in having scored 138 this season, while Jeff Streun's team has scored 105. Stigler scored 28 points last week as it beat Eufaula.

Heavener and the Rangers played the closest game in the league this week, with Heavener eventually emerging with a 20-14 victory. Dillan Stallings threw for 166 yards and ran for 40 yards during the win.
