The Van Buren Pointers and the Little Rock Christian Academy Warriors squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Van Buren Pointers had to settle for second. They suffered a rough 52-28 defeat at the hands of the Warriors. Van Buren was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.
Bryce Perkins and Trenton Cooley certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Perkins threw for 375 yards and four touchdowns, while Cooley picked up 124 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Perkins hasn't dropped below 300 passing yards for three straight games.
Walker White was his usual excellent self, throwing for 303 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries for Little Rock Christian Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Bowman, who picked up 202 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Van Buren's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Little Rock Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
Van Buren does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Little Rock Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against Benton at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Benton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
