The Overton Eagles had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 62-54 victory over Wilcox-Hildreth on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Overton also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Overton was led to victory by Alex Banzhaf and Brody Fleischman. Banzhaf scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Fleischman scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Fleischman scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Luther, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
The victory got Overton back to even at 9-9. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Overton is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Elm Creek will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they will square off against the at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
