North Side is 0-1 against Colleyville Heritage since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The North Side Steers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colleyville Heritage Panthers at 7:00 a.m. The timing isn't great for North Side: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Colleyville Heritage has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, North Side got themselves on the board against Trimble Tech, but Trimble Tech never followed suit. They breezed by the Bulldogs on the road to the tune of 35-0. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for North Side's seven-point performance the matchup before.
Among those leading the charge was Deandre Montgomery, who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Lorenzo Perez did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Colleyville Heritage at home against Arlington Heights on Friday as the team secured a 42-7 win. The result was nothing new for Colleyville Heritage, who have now won five matchups by 34 points or more so far this season.
Luke Ullrich continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 186 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 255 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. Ullrich's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Blueitt, who picked up 187 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped North Side to 4-3 and Colleyville Heritage to 6-1.
