The Victoria Knights lost against the St. John Tigers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Victoria's rough 58-36 defeat to St. John might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Victoria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while St. John is ranked 48th).
Victoria's loss came despite strong showings from Lindsey Scheck and Averi Windholz. Scheck dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Windholz dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Emma Dinkel was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Victoria's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for St. John, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Victoria will take on Kinsley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Victoria is facing Kinsley at the right time seeing as Kinsley is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for St. John, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Manhattan Catholic at 10:30 a.m. on February 10th. Manhattan Catholic will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something St. John surely won't give up without a fight.
