After three games on the road, Central is heading back home. The Central Bobcats and the North Canyon Rattlers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
Central suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Wednesday. Their rough 65-39 defeat to McClintock might stick with them for a while. Central has not had much luck with McClintock recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 20 to 12 on the offensive boards, a fact North Canyon proved on Friday. They took down Sierra Linda 57-43.
North Canyon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lanaya McCloud led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Jonni Brown, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for North Canyon, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Central came up short against North Canyon in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 59-46. Can Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
