Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sloan-Hendrix). They never let the Mammoth Spring Bears get on the board and left with a 27-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Stetson Wall was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Sloan-Hendrix got a massive performance out of Braxton Wall, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. The Greyhounds are 9-1 when Wall posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Morse, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Sloan-Hendrix always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .848. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Sloan-Hendrix's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mammoth Spring, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
As of now, neither Sloan-Hendrix nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
