The East Rutherford Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Brevard 68-45. East Rutherford's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading East Rutherford to victory were Bella Harris and Taniyah Cash. Harris scored 19 points along with nine rebounds, while Cash dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Cash's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garryn Thompson, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds.
The win for East Rutherford keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Brevard, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Rutherford will be home for the holidays to greet Bessemer City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bessemer City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 488th, while East Rutherford is ranked 102nd). Brevard will be home for the holidays to greet T.C. Roberson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
