Basketball Recap: Treymar Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Milton over Edgewater

Milton saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell to the Edgewater Eagles 58-52.

Milton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Treymar Jones, who made all 6 shots he took to post 19 points and eight rebounds. Jones has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. Ra'Shaun Elzy was another key player, as he made all 7 shots he took to post 17 points along with six assists and three steals.

Even though they lost, Milton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Edgewater, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Milton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-52 loss against Creekside on the 28th. As for Edgewater, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-47 defeat against St. Thomas Aquinas on the 28th.
