Taft is 0-10 against Granada Hills Charter since April of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Toreadors will head out to face off against the Highlanders at 3:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Taft will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Chatsworth, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Toreadors put the hurt on the Chancellors with a sharp 10-1 victory on Wednesday. The Toreadors not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st (when they won 12-0).

Chiara Cioffi made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Cioffi was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Katelyn Levine was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ariyah Williams also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Taft kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Granada Hills Charter waltzed into their game on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Royals 11-1. Considering the Highlanders have won 14 matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Moorman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lainey Brown, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Elysse Diaz, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Granada Hills Charter's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Taft, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.
Taft might still be hurting after the 20-4 defeat they got from Granada Hills Charter in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Toreadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
