D.H. Conley is a perfect 10-0 against Havelock since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The D.H. Conley Vikings will take on the Havelock Rams at 6:30 p.m. D.H. Conley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Havelock's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times D.H. Conley and South Central had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. D.H. Conley walked away with a 5-2 win over South Central on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Vikings have beaten the Falcons on their field since June 8, 2021.
Caleb Case looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nolan Winfield, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ryker Butcher was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Havelock, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against West Craven by a score of 13-8 on Friday. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ian Daub made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Daub was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Austin Livingston was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Cody Jones, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Havelock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Craven only managed six hits.
D.H. Conley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Havelock, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Everything went D.H. Conley's way against Havelock in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as D.H. Conley made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for D.H. Conley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
