Newport relied on the efforts of Tay Kinney, who scored 20 points, and Jabari Covington, who scored 22 points. Covington has been hot recently, having posted 22 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of James Turner, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Conner earned a 75-66 victory over South Dearborn on Saturday.
Newport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. As for Conner, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
