This season hasn't been kind to The Concordia Mustangs, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They were beaten by Roncalli Catholic 64-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Concordia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Roncalli Catholic is ranked 28th).
Roncalli Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brady Mcgill out in front who threw for 102 yards and five touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Chris Haman-macias, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Concordia's loss was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.8 points per game. As for Roncalli Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Concordia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Roncalli Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Pierce at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Pierce is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
