The Baldwyn Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Baldwyn is ranked 166th, while Tupelo Christian Prep is ranked 168th).
Baldwyn unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 35-14 loss at the hands of Biggersville.
Meanwhile, Tupelo Christian Prep got themselves on the board against Thrasher on Friday, but Thrasher never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rebels 46-0 at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Tupelo Christian Prep's zero-point performance the match before.
Brewer Bailey was a one-man wrecking crew for Tupelo Christian Prep as he threw for 153 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes.
Biggersville's victory bumped their season record to 7-1 while Baldwyn's defeat dropped theirs to 5-4.
Baldwyn skirted past Tupelo Christian Prep 20-17 in their previous meeting back in November of 2019. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Tupelo Christian Prep's Khi Holiday, who rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 207 yards and a touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Baldwyn to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
