Softball Recap: Lyon County's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Lyon County won the last time they faced Hickman County and things went their way on Monday too. The Lyons came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 8-3.

Lilly Perry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Audrey Akridge, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and three doubles. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Courtney Collins, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Lyon County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hickman County only posted a batting average of .267.

Lyon County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13-1. As for Hickman County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Coming up, Lyon County will square off against Muhlenberg County at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Lyons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hickman County, they will face off against Ballard Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
