The end of the 2012 Colorado volleyball season had a familiar theme, as the top-seeded team in each of the five classifications earned championships Saturday at the Denver Coliseum.
The list of champs, in order:
Doherty (Colorado Springs) (5A),
Cheyenne Mountain (Colorado Springs) (4A),
Valley (Gilcrest) (3A),
Lutheran (Parker) (2A) and
Weldon Valley (Weldona) (1A). In the case of Cheyenne Mountain, the program won its fifth 4A title in a row.

Courtney Chacon led Valley to the 25-15, 25-15, 25-16 victory with 22 kills and 17 digs. The Vikings finished 29-0 and only lost three sets during the year, including two in a five-set semifinal thriller against St. Mary's (Colorado Springs).
