The Mancos Bluejays came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 69-51 win over Thomas MacLaren School.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mancos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brian Veach, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Chris Medina was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Mancos pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Thomas MacLaren School, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mancos' road trip will continue as they head out to face Sanford at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for Thomas MacLaren School, they will face off against Fountain Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fountain Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Thomas MacLaren School likes a good challenge.
