The Montgomery Academy Eagles will be playing at home against the Geneva Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Montgomery Academy's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past Slocomb 53-20 at home. The victory was just what Montgomery Academy needed coming off of a 52-0 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montgomery Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chance Wilson, who rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 34 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Wilson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was D.j. Vinson, who picked up 234 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Geneva was able to grind out a solid win over Bullock County on Friday, taking the game 30-20.
Montgomery Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Geneva, their win also bumped their record up to an identical 3-6.
Everything came up roses for Montgomery Academy against Geneva in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 40-13 win. Does Montgomery Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Geneva turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
