The Whitko Wildcats entered their tilt with the South Adams Starfires with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Whitko enjoyed a cozy 49-34 win over South Adams on Saturday. Given Whitko's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while South Adams is ranked 433rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riley Harman was on fire: he scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kyler Krull, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
South Adams' loss came despite strong showings from Owen Wanner and Tytus Lehman. Wanner scored 12 points, while Lehman scored ten points.
Whitko's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for South Adams, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.
Whitko will play host again and welcome North Miami, where tip off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. North Miami is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for South Adams, they will head out on the road to take on Woodlan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Woodlan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
