Softball Recap: Mission Bay Wins Going Away Against Canyon Crest Academy

While Mission Bay didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens on Saturday. Considering the Buccaneers have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Audrey Fernandez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Indy Beesley was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Mission Bay hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Mission Bay's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.

Mission Bay will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Palo Verde Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 7-3 win against Tri-City Christian on the 15th.
