The Southwestern Trojans were the 56-45 winner over the Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds when they last played one another back in February of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Southwestern fell 51-40 to Chautauqua Lake on Thursday.
Chautauqua Lake found their leader in underclassman Nick Jacobson, who scored 24 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Nathan Henry was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Chautauqua Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Southwestern will look to defend their home court on Monday against Clymer Central at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Clymer Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday. As for Chautauqua Lake, they will head out on the road to face off against Silver Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
