Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, North Thurston should expect quite the challenge on Thursday. They will look to defend their home turf against Peninsula at 7:00 PM. With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win.
North Thurston were able to grind out a solid victory over Port Angeles last week, winning 21-7. Senior Eduardo Martinez, who rushed for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in North Thurston's success.
Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Peninsula, but their most recent match may have softened the blow. They took their match against Skyline 32-20.
Their wins bumped Peninsula to 1-1 and North Thurston to 2-0. The North Thurston defense got after the quarterback against Port Angeles to the tune of 4.0 sacks, so Peninsula's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the game.
