The Freeport Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 64-53 to Redbank Valley. While losing is never fun, Freeport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 526th, while Redbank Valley is ranked 22nd).
Redbank Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kieran Fricko, who scored 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Mason Clouse, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Freeport's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Redbank Valley, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Freeport's road trip will continue as they head out to face Propel Braddock Hills at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Redbank Valley, they will play host again and welcome Ellwood City, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ellwood City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
