Softball Recap: Malvern Extends Winning Streak to Four

Malvern made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bauxite, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Leopards put the hurt on the Miners with a sharp 15-7 victory on Friday. The Leopards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Kendall Watson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Watson was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Hattie Davis was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi White, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

The win was the fourth in a row for Malvern, bringing their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bauxite, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Malvern will welcome Nashville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bauxite, they will be playing at home against Conway at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
