The Washington County Commanders are on the road again on Saturday and play against the Butler Bears at 4:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Wednesday, Washington County came up short against Newport and fell 64-55. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Washington County has scored all season.
Butler has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 76-45 victory over Doss at home. Given Butler's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Doss is ranked 242nd), the result last Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Washington County's loss dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Butler, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
