The Arundel Wildcats will square off against the C. Milton Wright Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Arundel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Arundel proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 16) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past North County 4-2. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won three games in a row.
Rowland Thursby made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Arundel is 4-1 when Thursby posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise.

Owen Davis looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Ryan Herman was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kevin Emerson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

C. Milton Wright has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Arundel, they pushed their record up to 5-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Arundel has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like C. Milton Wright struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
