Squalicum's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Burlington-Edison hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Tigers never let Bellingham get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Zak Fleshman made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Aguilar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Squalicum made easy work of Mt. Baker on Tuesday and carried off an 8-0 win.
Like Burlington-Edison, Squalicum also got a great game from a two-way player: Hudson Johnson. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Johnson also allowed three hits, which is notable because Squalicum is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 3-16 otherwise. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Ty York was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Squalicum's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-17 when he doesn't). Phoenix Price was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Burlington-Edison's record now sits at 14-4. As for Squalicum, their record is now 5-17.
Everything went Burlington-Edison's way against Squalicum when the teams last played back in March, as Burlington-Edison made off with a 16-0 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Storm turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
