Mayer suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against North Valley Christian Academy, falling 73-40. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mayer in their matchups with North Valley Christian Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Bagdad's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 72-27 loss at the hands of Antelope.
Mayer has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Bagdad, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-14.
Mayer couldn't quite finish off Bagdad in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 and fell 42-39. Can Mayer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
