There's no place like home for the Northside Christian Academy Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Metrolina Christian Academy 66-34 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-14.
Leading Northside Christian Academy to victory were Kyrell Shaw and Jaleel Smith. Shaw scored 16 points, while Smith scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Dorian Reeves, who scored ten points.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DeAngelo Walker, who scored ten points along with two steals. Josiah Rucks was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Northside Christian Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.22 points. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside Christian Academy will challenge Concord Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Concord Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Gaston Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaston Day will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
