The Oakleaf Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Bishop Kenny 48-15. Oakleaf was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-6.
Despite the loss, Oakleaf still got an impressive performance from Makiya Trusel, who scored ten points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Clare Coyle, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Bishop Kenny. Another player making a difference was Riley Talbert, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Oakleaf has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Bishop Kenny, their win was their 13th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
Oakleaf will challenge Creekside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Creekside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. As for Bishop Kenny, they will be playing at home against Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buchholz will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Bishop Kenny is ranked 13th).
