There's no place like home for the East Canton Hornets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They had just enough and edged Malvern out 43-40. For East Canton, this counts as revenge for the 51-38 defeat Malvern walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Among those leading the charge was Audrey Wade, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Wade is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Carter, who scored 6 points along with 19 rebounds.
East Canton's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Malvern, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
East Canton will look to defend their home court on Monday against Indian Valley at 7:30 p.m. Indian Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Malvern, they will head out on the road to face off against Buckeye Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buckeye Trail and Malvern are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
