Basketball Game Preview: Memorial Red Devils vs. Western Reserve Blue Devils

The Memorial Red Devils will venture away from home to take on the Western Reserve Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Memorial is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62 points per game this season.

Memorial is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since December 22, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Cardinal Mooney 70-35. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Memorial had strong showings from Teyon Harris Jr., who posted six points along with nine boards and five blocks, and Demetrius Lambert Jr., who earned seven points. Harris Jr. is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Western Reserve didn't have too much trouble with Jackson-Milton on Thursday as they won 61-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Western Reserve's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Memorial, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Memorial against Western Reserve in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, as the team secured an 88-58 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Memorial since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
