Luray is 2-8 against East Rockingham since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Luray will head out on the road to take on East Rockingham at 5:30 p.m. Luray's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so East Rockingham's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Monday, Luray sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Rocktown. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Conner Hilliard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, Luray's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Wood, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that Wood snagged this season.
Meanwhile, East Rockingham made easy work of Luray on Thursday and carried off a 9-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.
Alex Jenkins was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in hits (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, East Rockingham let Grayson Hammer and Brady Grant run wild. Hammer scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Grant went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Hammer has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Bruce, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Luray's record now sits at 3-1. As for East Rockingham, their record now sits at 2-0.
Luray might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from East Rockingham when the teams last played on Thursday. Can Luray avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
